ADOPTS TERMS OF SERVICE
When you adopt an Occularus, you automatically agree to the follow terms of service.
So, you've polished up on your Occularus knowledge, you've seen some cute characters, and now you want one of your own. What now?
Well, you're in luck, because we've implemented the Sponsorship Program. The Sponsorship Program was created because so many Occularus want to come live on earth, but we can't just bring them here and leave them be! They have no idea about us, about our culture, our languages...anything! So, as a potential sponsor it's up to you to teach them, to show them the ways of Earth. To help them become able to live on their own amongst us. By signing up for The Sponsorship Program you are agreeing to the following terms and conditions that come with your new Occularus!
Occularus are a Closed Species by me, Gen Gaspard, and were created in 2014. You are not permitted to make your own unless given explicit permission.

OBTAINING AN OCCULARUS
Occularus can be obtained a number of ways. You can buy a pre-existing adopt, acquire an MYO slot, or enter a contest or raffle.
Once you receive your Occularus, the character becomes yours. However you may not change it's design, claim the design as your own (MYO exempt), claim the species as your own, or claim any art that wasn't made by you as your own. You are not allowed to commercialize or reproduce the character for profit.
Other than that, you're free to do pretty much anything you want, you can RP, join in group events, write stories, commission art, anything you set your mind to!
PAYMENT
As much as we wish your Sponsorship was free, unfortunately transporting living beings from one galaxy to another is rather...erm...expensive. So usually we will ask for a flat fee up front to sponsor your Occularus. At certain times these costs can get rather unfortunate, so we will hold auctions to cover the overhead.
Payment will be made through paypal exclusively via invoice. Refunds are non-applicable.
You must pay within 24 hours.
AUCTIONS
Auctions are held for USD only, paypal only, non-refundable. Please only bid on auctions if you have the funds available. Bidding ends after AB or after the highest bidder is unchallenged for 24 hours.
RESELLING
Sometimes you don't get along with your Occularus. And that's okay! There are tons of eager earthlings just waiting for their chance to sponsor!
Reselling is allowed at equal value plus the addition of the value of any art or other works that will accompany it. You are free to resell MYO creations, customs, ect.
MYO & CUSTOMS
Sometimes you'll get lucky, and you can choose the way your Occularus looks! We can hand select someone who fits your aesthetic out of our pool of eager interstellar travelers!
MYO and Customs may not be based off of a pre-existing character. If you want to use a trait listed outside of the official guide please ask for permission first. Trading MYO slots is fine but in order to trade a custom slot it must be done BEFORE I begin working on your commission.
SPECIES CHANGE
If you'd like to no longer have your character as an Occularus, I ask that you remove all traits that makes the character recognizable as one (horns, eyes, teeth, markings, ect), and that you remove, hide, or edit all art depicting the character as a part of their original species. Once the character has been removed from the species, you cannot add it back in. If you sell the character in the future, you may not include their original design or artwork. Failure to comply will be seen as scamming, and you'll be blacklisted from all of my species in the future. Please let me know when you want to do this so that I may remove them for the masterlist.
